Did a major overhaul on my website.
Hopefully no more kinks! Chrissy Powell was completely awesome and found them all for me and gave me some pointers. I think it's a good bit more streamlined right now.
Oh, and random monster doodles seem to be popping up on my deviantART page, if you care to check them out.

My two main characters (if you can consider Prince Charming as such. He seems to not show up a whole lot in general, compared to the sisters...) and environment for LobsterElla.
The reason for different things on the character sheets are thanks to us having to approach designing these guys two different ways. One through action poses to define personality and go from there, the second was done by way of variation on a base model.
Surprisingly, I think I had more fun with the second!

Here is the process for my pompous ass Ring Leader.
He does not fall in love with the beautiful Ectrodactyly girl, much to her disappointment. This is a Cinderella story (with Lobster Syndrome) that does not end well.

Lobster Claw Syndrome / Ectrodactyly is one of the many physical deformities that I find fascinating. If one is interested I would recommend checking out Patt Kelley's Cabinet Card collection, though if you have a problem with weird body things I would steer clear.

Recently I discovered that Aesop's Fables can be absolutely hilarious. So of course I must illustrate a few of them.
This is the first one that I have finished, as far as art goes. Printing and packaging is my next step! It's called "Bathing Boy", and the one I'm roughing out now is "The King's Son and the Painted Lion", which, of course, has pretty much nothing to do with a painted lion. I managed to convince myself not to illustrate "The Lion, The Cock and the Ass" because beyond a title I found hilariously dated, the story was nowhere near as entertaining.

They will be printed, possible bound, and packaged in (slightly larger than usual) custom match boxes. I will be selling them at some point in the near future! I plan on hitting a few cons and bazaars within the next year!

A new obsession

My roommate has named this guy the Fu** Sh** Da** Monster, as his horns remind her of comic swear words (i.e. #$@!?%). She is a classy lady indeed.

Run Lola Run is probably my favorite (live-action) movie. Unless there is one I am forgetting. However, as it is a pretty awesome movie with a lot of great ideas and images, I chose it for my movie poster assignment in Poster Design.

School has begun (again)!
I have about 13 projects to do in the next 8 weeks, so we'll see how that all works out!
Wish me luck, I shall be posting things hopefully as they come.
I am currently working on a movie poster for Run Lola Run (my favorite movie!) and starting another for a newspaper. I'll see you guys soon!

So as you may have noticed, the "daily" part of "daily doot" didn't work out so well. As much as I would love to update this blog every day, I'm finding that I simply don't have the time or energy to pump out a display-worthy drawing, finished or otherwise, every 24 hours.
Of course, I am still doing art and doodles, (I am currently teaching myself to screen print) and there will be updates and art posted here somewhat regularly. It just won't be daily.

performed the Funky Chicken Dance in a Storm Trooper helmet and gentleman's coat.
It was kind of fun. Kind of like that gradient background right there. Oohh yeah, who's to say gradients can't be fun or nice looking! This way it resembles the magnificent awe felt by all as i flapped around the music room followed by 3 little girls looking embarassed and confused.

Being a camp sub can be tricky (I worked in three separate groups today with a total of 47 kids, 5 counselors and 2 CITs) and I missed my usual break today, so here's a sketch I did during the most "exciting" class of the day.
The kids love it, and they're parents pay money to have them play on barbie.com.

Hey everyone!
No updates this weekend (as you may have noticed) due to me taking a stab at screen printing. I tried using Drawing Fluid rather than just screen filler for the second color, so we'll see how that turns out! (My hopes are not up.) If it works out, there will be some limited edition prints up for sale!
Hopefully back to the regular updates tomorrow, as well as work. I will miss the weekend.

I clearly have not been drawing enough. Maybe it's the 8 hours of screaming, obnoxious children under the age of 8 followed by the 4 hour "naps" that's stopping me before I can hit the sketchbook, but it's seriously getting to me.
Today I discovered Andy Helm's Dude-a-Day project, and am now determined to get something similar underway. Of course, it is not to be limited to dudes, because seriously? Which gender do I love drawing? What's more fun than boobs!
